La Selva Beach

This bucolic beach town was founded in 1925. La Selva is Spanish for "the jungle," apropos for the lush conifer trees throughout a rustic landscape. The beach itself is practically private, tucked away, with a key and parking available only to residents. While La Selva is private it is not pretentious. Triangle Park is lined with flags of the world, and a horseshoe pit invites regular neighborhood get togethers.
